Flagpole-Memorial

The Village of Wardsville is working to raise funds to install a 30 foot flagpole and a Veterans Memorial at our Village Hall and Office, similar to the memorial shown in the picture below.  We already have the stone monument pictured on the left, which will be relocated and incorporated into the memorial when it is installed.  The flagpole would be placed in the center and would include proper lighting.  This idea was dicussed at a recent Village meeting.  Since we currently do not have a flagpole, it was suggested that we reach out to local businesses, community members, and supporters of our many veterans to help make this project possible through donations.  Our new Village Hall and Office was built using grant funding.  In the same spirit, we hope to complete the Memorial through community donations, allowing us to honor our Veterans.  The estimated cost for the flagpole and Veterans Memorial is approximaely $10,000.  Any donation, regardless of the amount, would be greatly appreciated.  Our goal is to raise the funds by the end of May, so the Memorial can be installed in time for our 4th of July celebration as we recognize the 250th birthday of our Nation.
